When fully raised the base reaches a maximum height of 18.5 inches on leg pads or 20.75 inches with casters. Total surface height varies by mattress selection such as a low profile mattress which creates a range from 16.5 inches to 24 inches or a standard quilted mattress that sits between 20.625 inches and 28.125 inches when measured on stationary pads
